Nice to see the k-drama boards didn't completely disappear. Thank you for continuing these boards.

I have arrived, but I don't know for how long! March 13th, two days after my 57th birthday, I have to have heart surgery, so I will probably disappear around that time, for how long, I don't have a clue.
I was sooooo bored in the hospital and I am thrilled to be back home and using my beloved All In One desktop again, where I have everything at my fingertips that I really need and where I can watch my dramas at the same time I am writing reviews or chatting on boards or answering email.
So I would appreciate some prayers around this time. Gomapsumnida!

My web site at www.kdramalove.com/reviews.html
I've been at it for about nine months now. 3/4s of the reviews are mine, and 1/3rd are my best friend Alison's reviews. We've been friends since 5th grade. I got her hooked on the dramas a number of years ago. She can't watch as many as she used to because she is taking care of her very frail Mom in her late 80's.
Last review I wrote was for Healer. I thought it was good but it just didn't wow me as it seemed to wow others. Maybe if it was one of the first dramas I watched I would have been more bowled over.

You will come back faster earlier than I thought, Jill. I am Normabanana, the Northeast Asian woman who have never left for any foreign countries.
Staying in the hospital is really boring. A decade ago, I was hospitalised for a day. Used to want to do that because of the boring middle school before that. It was too boring after that.

There are three left I have to write: Hyde, Jekyll and I because it's not done yet, You're All Surrounded because I'm not finished watching it, and The King's Face because I know it's going to take me at least two days to write it the way I'd like, and I'm not up to the heavy duty stuff right now.
I've even put the others aside and I am rewatching my fav scenes from My Girl again. I can't break myself away from it, it's like eating the best chocolate in the world. That has to be the absolutely funniest show on the entire Dramafever database. I can't stop howling with laughter. It was a big hit for the Hong Sisters. And it doesn't hurt that it is filmed on gorgeous Jeju Island. Dong Wook gets some funny scenes too that he must have relished, like in one of her dream sequences she is on the floor of a Korean sauna and he throws gobs of money down on her, looking down at her while the camera distorts his face. I ROARED!!!

yay! Jill finally made it down here! i was getting worried about you. i pray for your fast and smooth recovery!
i really miss all your inputs from the previous board. you may not like any show that's over 20 episodes, but i love your passion for kdramas.
are you planning on entering an inpatient rehab after surgery? or are you going home straight from the hospital?

They're "just" putting a pacemaker in so I expect I will be coming home several days after the procedure. I recently watched Bridal Mask which was 28 episodes and felt like half that amount because it was so engrossing. Loved it. Another great performance by Joo Won. It takes place in 1930's Korea when Japan ruled the country, so that alone was interesting to me. I had always wondered why they ignored that period of time in their dramas, and speculated it was because they sell a lot of their dramas to Japan but they couldn't expect to sell this one because it was anti-Japan. I think the only other film production I've ever seen which takes place during this time period was a horror film called Epitaph. It was on Instant Netflix for awhile but they might have removed it. Great child actor in that film. www.kdramalove.com/BridalMask.html

I'm a Texian, and my main interests are classic film (especially silent film) and classic rock (60s and 70s; especially late 60s). Clara Bow remains my favorite silent film actress - I have a tribute website to her at Our Lady of Whims, if you'd like to discover this talented, fascinating woman. I took a US History in film class and was amazed how much I loved the silent films. I was blown away by Clara Bow. Her screen presence was riveting and truly amazing.
