JTBC has released its first teaser for their upcoming drama Welcome to Samdalri (웰컴투 삼달리).
Helmed by director Cha Young Hoon (When the Camellia Blooms), Welcome to Samdalri will star Ji Chang Wook as Jo Yong Pil, a man who has faithfully stayed in his hometown on Jeju Island all his life in order to protect its residents. Shin Hye Sun will play Jo Sam Dal, who grew up together with Jo Yong Pil as his close childhood friend. Unlike Jo Yong Pil, who was content to remain in his hometown Samdal, Jo Sam Dal made it her mission to get out of their small town and move to Seoul.
The teaser begins with the story of the Samdal residents who are excited by the news that Jo Sam Dal has returned to town. The more people are excited, the more embarrassed Sam Dal is. Since she was young, Sam Dal's goal was to leave the small island and go to the big city of Seoul. Her return to Samdal suggests that something bad has happened to her, leaving her no choice but to return to her hometown. Due to this, Sam Dal says in an annoyed voice, "It's a secret that I'm here," while trying to avoid being seen by people.
There is another reason why Sam Dal wants to keep her return a secret — her longtime childhood friend Jo Yong Pil, whom she lost contact with a few years ago for an unknown reason. After hearing the news of Sam Dal's return, Yong Pil desperately looks for Sam Dal, but Sam Dal tries her best to avoid Yong Pil by hiding behind a pile of trash.

Welcome to Samdalri will premiere December 2 on JTBC.

Former Gugudan & I.O.I member, Kang Mi Na ( Café Minamdang, Moonshine) has been cast in the role of Jo Hae Dal. Kang Mi Na will be playing Jo Sam Dal's younger sister Jo Hae Dal, who moved to Seoul at the age of 20 and got married after falling in love at a young age. However, even before her daughter was born, her husband tragically passed away in a car accident, leaving her to raise their child alone. Although she is the youngest of three sisters, Jo Hae Dal is a mature and responsible character who devoted the entirety of her twenties to raising her daughter as a single mom.
