Thanks. Just trying to chill out and can't wait to get home and in my own comfy surroundings ... and eat REAL food for a change.
I'm at an impasse as to what to watch next re: k-dramas. I kind of want something light-hearted and simple, like a rom com, nothing over 16 episodes. Something I can breeze through without a lot of effort. Anyone have any suggestions?

It's actually a collection of five, two-episode romantic short stories (10 total episodes). The KARA girls aren't really professional trained actresses, but their acting wasn't as bad as I might have feared. Don't expect any greatness, but they were mildly entertaining tales.

When those first came out I scanned through some of them, they looked more suited to a teenage audience. I also tried to find the one that featured Bae Soo Bin but I never could find it. Does anyone know which story episode he was in? Or did he drop out of the project?

Bae Soo Bin is in the third story, 'Lilac' (Ep. 5-6) with Kang Ji Young.

Thanks. I'll watch that one at least. He amuses me. The five stories have nothing to do with each other, so you can watch them independently of one another in any order (or not at all). In fact, Dramafever screwed up when they first launched the show; they uploaded the second story first and then renumbered the episodes, causing a great deal of confusion with viewers.

Typical Dramafever. I'm not even surprised.

Their coding problems on the website are colossally bad! From links that don't work, arrows that don't work so you can't see later episodes, no way to edit posts and sometimes the delete buttons don't work, I know for a fact that they don't pay a bit of attention when you hit the Offensive button when people use foul or gutter language, or even threaten you, as Abby and I were threatened. We emailed them when some creep said he'd track down where we live and rape us and the DF guy wrote back, "Sorry, there is no way we can delete that post." Horrible. Just horrible. Then they have no disclaimers for possibly offensive content. They need one for I Miss You because that shows the rape of a minor girl by a disgusting drug addict, but no warning for people. In Mermaid Story they show a minor girl in bed with an older man who is committing adultery on his wife and there is no disclaimer. The only one I've seen is for Yacha but that one was so blatantly in need of one that they couldn't get away with not having one legally. Then they have the nerve to invite kids in on their website, with a link saying KIDS at the top of every page. What is to stop the kids from going to the more porn like shows they feature on DF?

On to a happier tone, I finished the Lilacs segment of that Kara show. I probably won't watch the other ones but Bae Soo Bin sold me on watching that one. It's obviously geared toward the teenage crowd. It was nice to see him play a nice, gentlemanly type again, though; he was more like he was in Shining Inheritance way back in 2009 before he started playing more scampy, smarmy roles in 49 Days, Secret, The Greatest Marriage, et al. It was a very dreamy sequence and someone went to school on a plot device from A Tale Of Two Sisters.
Best thing about the show besides Bae Soo Bin was that adorable kitty cat named Yang (short for goyangi, obviously). Like that adorable colorful parrot on King 2 Hearts I wanted to reach in the screen and grab it and make it mine. I love animals! Attachments:

It's hard for me to recommend things since I don't know other people's taste but I watched Marriage Not Dating this summer and thought it was cute. It was like a Rom-Com. It had some serious parts but for the most part it was something fun to watch. It was 16 episodes. Here is the plot from AsianWiki "A perfect man, Kong Ki-Tae (Yeon Woo-Jin), is forced to marry by his family, but he doesn't to marry. To make his family give up, he introduces a woman, Joo Jang-Mi (Han Groo), to them that they would never accept."

I am being released sometime tomorrow I think so I will add it to my queue. I tried out the last story in the Kara: Secret Love drama last night, the one with the actor from Healer, just so that I could see him in something else. It was a very weak and unsatisfying story to end up that series. Didn't like it at all. It's really for the teen market audience.
After that I found myself drifting back to favorite number 6 of my list of 132, Thank You, with Gong Hyo Jin, Jang Hyuk, and Sung Rok Shin. I love this show so much, I almost consider it a holy show -- if TV dramas can ever be called holy. It's unlike any K-drama you will ever watch, totally unique (as was the other show this same writer wrote, the blockbuster I'm Sorry, I Love You).
I think this is the fourth time I've gone back to it, it's like being away from Home for years and years and then returning. I even bought the OOP outstanding YA Entertainment DVD box set for this show two years ago since I loved it so much.
One of the reasons I keep pulling away from everything else Jang Hyuk has appeared in, rarely ever being able to finish any other show he's been in, is because he IS this character for me in Thank You and I can't visualize him as any other character because that one made such a huge impact on me. I was able to finish Midas by the skin of my teeth, and he was good in that, but no way was his performance as profound and touching as his performance in Thank You. I tried watching him in Tree With Deep Roots but stopped early on because I couldn't bond with his character at all in that show either and stopped watching. The emotionally wounded doctor character he plays in Thank You takes the cake for brilliance. Multi-layered, cerebral, deeper than a canyon, I can't take my eyes off him in that drama, even when other characters are standing around.

They did the most touching wedding scene in the latest episode of Blood. Normally I don't care for weddings but this scene was really sad and happy at the same time.

Sorry to reply so late. Hope you are home and recovering nicely now. :-) Have you watched Trot Lovers? I had such a good time with that one. Can't remember how many episodes it was, probably more like 20. It made me a fan of Trot music and I've searched out quite a bit on youtube. The description of it being 'Korean country' music almost scared me off. I'm not a fan of banjos or fiddles, find the sound annoying, so that's what I was expecting. Jung Eun-ji has the most amazing voice! And I loved her more natural beauty -- she's just fresh and not all doll smooth if you get my meaning. Also, her character had my name: Choon Hee!

Trot Lovers made me start to have appreciation for Trot music too and I agree about the whole 'thinking it's the typical country music' thing. I also can't stand American country music, but I really like Trot music. It's fresh.

Yup. Fritz encouraged me to watch that one. I enjoyed it. Don't think it was anything earthshaking but sometimes you're just in the mood for pleasant, not challenging. Hyde, Jekyll and I is ending tonight. Then I will probably take a brief break in deciding what to watch next. I tried to watch 2 more episodes of that Kara show but I fell asleep on them. They're just so predictable, the only one I really liked was the Lilacs episode.
