Thanks. I will check out the first one on your list I've only heard the title before. I finished Hyde, Jekyll and I and can't quite believe it's finally over. This show has taken a huge chunk out of my life. I have the review for my website about half-way done already, but decided to wait to see how it ended to conclude my review. A very happy ending, which was overall pleasing to me. I think the writer tried to please both the Robin and Seo Jin characters fan clubs. So much so that it got a bit confusing to people whether Robin would disappear or merge with Seo Jin. However my take on it is that Robin DID disappear, not merge, but that in his last moments he GIFTED Seo Jin, with whom he had made his peace, with some of his memories that weren't erased yet and gifted him with his drawing talent so that he wouldn't risk the end of his career if that cousin character or anyone else would attack him and uncover his mental illness history.

Yup. Fritz encouraged me to watch that one. I enjoyed it. Don't think it was anything earthshaking but sometimes you're just in the mood for pleasant, not challenging. Hyde, Jekyll and I is ending tonight. Then I will probably take a brief break in deciding what to watch next. I tried to watch 2 more episodes of that Kara show but I fell asleep on them. They're just so predictable, the only one I really liked was the Lilacs episode. I should I have known I wasn't going to be able to come up with something you haven't watched! Your list is so extensive. Have you watched Hana Yori Dango yet? (Japanese Boys Over Flowers) I'm such a sucker for Matsumoto Jun. I think it's his eyes; they are riveting. Anyway, I believe it's on youtube, since it's not on Viki or Dramafever. But, you've probably already watched it too. I'm going to have to look over your list before I suggest anything else! Glad you are feeling better.

I ended up in the hospital again. Thursday night soon after finishing the last episode of Hyde, Jekyll and I my nose started hemorrhaging and wouldn't stop. My son Keith rushed me to the hospital. They packed it with this balloon thing that has to stay in my nose till Monday, forcing me to breathe through my mouth for days. I just got home Sat. afternoon. Then when it still wouldn't stop they transferred me by ambulance to a hospital 40 minutes away which had an ear nose and throat specialist. All this time I only got about 3 hours of sleep because the woman next to me in the room blasted the television set day and night with Ellen and Maury Povitch shows! Calgon, take me away!!! THANK GOD I GOT RID OF CABLE TV! I was about to kill her by the time I left. The nurses couldn't do anything to stop her. Then when her cell phone rang it was piercing, even at 2am!!! Nightmare, folks, nightmare!
Today I started Queen Of Reversals (2010) on my Smartphone while in the hospital. I am ONLY watching this for Park Shi Hoo, otherwise I wouldn't stick through it, the story is very cliché and boring. I'm on episode 5 -- maybe it'll get better. I hope.

I am up to episode 20 of 31 of Queen Of Reversals and they finally had their first kiss. Good ole Korean dramas! No InstaLove in these babies! I'm enjoying Park Shi Hoo in the drama but the story itself is way down in last place compared to all his other shows I've watched so far. In 20 he had a very moving scene where he meets his birth mother for the first time -- but the audience learns later she was HIRED to pretend to be his biological mother, he still doesn't know it. I cried when he cried. Such a good actor.

I finished up Queen of Reversals (2010). There was no way this drama had to be dragged out to 31 episodes. With better writing 20 episodes would have been plenty to tell the same story. Plus I never really liked the leading lady or her character. She insists on a divorce from her husband with whom she has had a little girl, telling him she can't trust him because he didn't tell her he dated her rival at work before they met. Hello? Who cares, it was years ago. Does everyone list all the people they have dated before they get married? She accuses him of cheating on her when he never did any such thing, he simply went to the woman's mom's funeral out of respect. So here she basically unfairly divorces the husband who loves her, then she yanks the chain of Park Shi Hoo's character for episode after episode, and I never could understand what he saw in her anyway. She was 7 years older than him, and I don't even consider the actress that pretty. He would say things like "You're not my type, but I want you" to her, and she would get insulted and call him a "pretty boy". With that personality of hers I went through the whole show talking back to the screen: "WHAT DO THEY SEE IN YOU? YOU'RE A BITCH!" LOLOL!!! I was so glad when it finally ended. Poor Park Shi Hoo. You could see he was trying really hard to create chemistry with this woman, but it never flew with me. Now this actress is 43 and I guess her career is over so I hope I never see her pop up in anything again.

While awaiting new episodes of the currently airing Shine or Go Crazy, I decided to delve into one of Jill’s favs, the classical music-themed Beethoven Virus (2008). The parallels to last year’s Tomorrow’s Cantabile are fairly obvious, though Beethoven Virus is a melodrama, rather than a romantic comedy. Overall, I liked the show, but I honestly really had a hard time warming to the “Orchestra Killer.” I understand he was a good guy beneath his prickly exterior, but he seemed unnecessarily assholic and that never really changed over the course of the show. I guess I was expecting him to evolve more as a character. How the charming female lead could seriously friendzone the kind and generous guy genius in favor of the arrogant self-absorbed jerk, defied all reason. At least they didn’t end up together. I loved the great classical music, although I probably did prefer the music in Tomorrow’s Cantabile. I have a weakness for piano music and that show had a lot more great piano works. Still, all in all, Beethoven Virus is well worth watching. Nice find Jill!

Glad you liked it. I think the female character felt the older orchestra leader needed her more. Lots of women that age prefer older men (I know I did and my husband was eight years older than I). I felt she did do a lot to humanize him.
My friend Alison is FINALLY watching Thank You (2007) which is in my Top Ten, and she emailed me she loves it. I only sent her the DVDs for it a year ago! LOL.
That is a show that I consider holy.

Jill, i really appreciate that you posted your long list of favorites early on this thread. i go back to that time to time to find titles that might interest me.
Fritz, please do the same here. i'd love to see your list of favorites here too. i know your list would be more sageuk-oriented, so i would like to see which historicals i might try to watch next

Crystoph started the thread in the "Off-Topic Subject" section because he didn't want to limit it to just Korean dramas. It probably should be moved to this section anyway, since pretty much everybody here watches mostly Korean dramas and nobody would think to look for such a thread there.

thank you, Fritz! i've seen a lot of your top 23 shows, but i have empress ki on queue. iron empress is on progress right now, and from what i've seen of it, i remember a lot of angst and banshee screaming--which pretty much blurs everything else for me with it. i'm surprised you don't have Damo on your list
