Don't mean to offend but that's terrible, the animation is jerky and unartistic, the subject matter dire -- swords going into bellies and blood spurting out of mouths? This is the kind of anime I stay away from.
Nothing beats Mushi Shi (1 and 2) for visual quality, haunting beautiful music, and economy of story. In the original from 2005 my favorite episodes were One Night Bridge and String From The Sky. Animation is artwork personified, great details in every image. More like Studio Ghibli: each frame is like a painting.
Funimation makes you sign up on YT to see images, I would recommend:

I seemed to look down on Western cartoons. Apologise for the fans. In fact, am a fan of classic American cartoons as well. But sometimes like the dark classic anime. Feel sad that my favorite cartoons' episodes do not have very dark scenes. I am sorry again, Cartoon fans.
Jill, do you consider artistry of animation? I am just curious.

What would Jesus want you to watch? Christians shouldn't go out of their way to watch Satanic, evil images, and if they happen to see some they should condemn them, not complain that there isn't enough of them in their country's entertainment.
Philippians 4:8 King James Version (KJV)
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Look for the lovely things to watch, things that inspirational, not things that could easily bring you over to the dark side.
