Hopefully this year they'll bring more girl groups, so I'll have a reason to go. Last year was total sausage fest, so I gave it a miss.

I was able to stream it online last year and I was so happy to watch it because it had a lot of the groups I like . There seems to be more girl groups in general now so maybe they will have some that you like this time around. Wondering when they will start announcing who will be starring?

Last year, they started announcing the NY groups in late April, basically 2 months in advance of the shows. I would expect them to follow that time frame again this year.

Happy to hear CNBLUE was going to be at it this year since last year they were scheduled in LA but then dropped, I think due to issues. Hoping this year they actually go. (Not that I have money to go to KCON but hoping I can stream it like last year).

(Not that I have money to go to KCON but hoping I can stream it like last year). Yeah, CBBLUE had some kind of scandal/controversy brewing last year; I forget the details. I certainly wouldn't even consider going if I had to fly and get hotel, etc... That's a pretty big expense. I'm fortunate to live close enough to Newark, NJ that I can day-trip it. It's a two hour drive for me. When I went to KCON-NY 2015, the whole thing cost me about $300 (gas/tolls/parking/food/P2 concert ticket) - certainly not cheap, but not so expensive that I wouldn't consider doing it again. It was fun. For me, it really depends on who is coming and what night they are performing (there are two shows). The Friday night show would be really tough for me. I'd have to leave straight from work and fight the Friday afternoon rush hour traffic. And I wouldn't have much time to visit the festival. Saturday would be much better.

I do enjoy the korean movies/dramas - so much talent in writing and acting - but what I see in boy/girl bands is McDonalds/processed foods (no substances ) yes there are songs and singers/bands I like ; however, I would love to Mamamoo with guitars i.e Amber & Ailee sing UpTown Funk with a live band just brings in more energy the Koreans have the talent but when people are happy why change ? while I'm not happy I believe their better then just having pretty faces and organized dance moves what I'd like to seeeee - with korean girl bands

Taeyeon to hold solo concerts in May what I'd like to see is Taeyeon sister show-up with a guitar ( ok it's snowing out and I'm a little melancholy from reading to much world news - so I making shit-up like the rest of the world but my world is prefect, trust meeee )

While some can actually play instruments, like CNBLUE or AOA (yeah, people forget they were originally a band). There are actual Korean bands and singer/songwriters, but you have to dig for them.

That's highly unlikely. BTW: I'm not sure Taeyeon knows how to play a guitar; she's always been strictly a singer. Some others like IU can and do play guitar, though she's certainly no virtuoso.

GFRIEND joins the line-up for KCON-NY 2017. (LOL I'm detecting a pattern here - all three so-far announced acts were scheduled to appear at KCON-LA last year, though CNBLUE backed out).

I thought the line up so far looked familiar they should switch it up some. But with Twice and GFriend hitting it big last year it doesn't surprise me that they have them coming. As for CNBLUE since they backed out last year, then it is something different this year.

With two shows, they should at least 8 acts coming, so there is still plenty of room in the line-up for something different. None of these groups so far are likely headliners. I'm sure there will be a couple really big-name veteran acts to come.
