Romanization: warui (wah-roo-ee)
Warui is an 'i' adjective. In Japanese, there are two main types of adjectives - i adjectives and na adjectives. I adjectives all end in -i, while na adjectives don't have to end in -i.
With na adjectives, if the adjective comes before what is being described, you must insert na after it.
For example, "Pretty book." -「綺麗 な 本」- "Kirei na hon."
But for an i adjective, if the adjective comes before what is being described, you don't have to change anything.
For example, "Interesting book." - 「面白い 本」- "Omoshiroi hon."

That makes sense because whenever I watch anime or Japanese dramas and high school girls would call a high school guy scary, it didn't seem like they were afraid of him like that, but because he was ugly. xD
