I'm putting this here because so many films and tv shows have been made off her works.

11 Surprising Things You Never Knew About Jane Austen
I was really surprised and a bit ticked off to see the condition of her grave. Fix the headstone, people, and put some flowers around it! My gosh, they certainly made enough money off the woman! The film industry should contribute moula to keeping it in nice shape! Spruce it up, rich filmmakers!

I guess I'm blind. I only see ten things, and the article claims there are eleven.
As far as number 8 is concerned: isn't the commentary, "The two books that were released after her passing was Persuasion and Northanger Abbey", bad grammar?
As far as no one knowing that she wrote the books, I find that difficult to believe. Sir Walter Scott considered her as fine a writer as was writing in the United Kingdom in his day. How did he know? Was there some secret? I'm confused (which is nothing new, by the way).
I agree about the plot, by the way. I've seen it. It's pretty sloppy. However, she's actually buried in the north aisle of Winchester Cathedral, not outside. I know, that's no excuse. Nevertheless...

Was her body moved at some point? It seems ridiculous for the family to splurge on a headstone and big tablet (or whatever you call what's on the ground) for a body that's not there? Weird. They might as well just clean it away if she's not there.
