Choi Sulli, formerly of the Kpop group f(x), was found dead at her Seongnam residence this afternoon (Oct. 14). While no cause of death has been reported, it is widely suspected that this was a suicide. She was 25. Anyone who follows Hallyu press would know that Sulli has been the subject of relentless criticism from Knetizens for years about everything from her fashion choices to her behavior. I'm saddened, but unfortunately not surprised by this news. She never could get a break.

This is so sad she was to young to die. I liked Sulli and I felt bad that even though she had quit FX and was trying to go a different route everything she did someone was always criticizing her. She was so pretty, and I don't know why they always had to have negative comments about her. May she rest in peace!

I confess I was never really a big fan of Sulli or f(x). That said, I never could understood why the Knets had to treat her so badly. Most of the criticisms directed at her seemed so petty. I guess I'm pretty 'old school' - I still live by the code my mama taught me - "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." Frankly, I think we could use a bit more of that attitude today, rather than this incessant complaining and taking offense at everything that seems pervasive these days.

I was also brought up that way "If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all". That is why I try not to criticize or say anything really bad. I think social media doesn't help much with the criticizing either. I think a lot of people feel they can say anything because no one knows who they really are. Your have an id but they don't know you personally so they think they can say anything. The internet has been very good in so many aspects with bringing different cultures and people together but it also lets people just say anything without them realizing how much they are hurting the other people, because that person can not see them. A few people I know are starting to step away from social media and they say it is refreshing, not to read all of the negativity that sometimes comes with it.
