Went to the grocery store today and still Toilet paper has seem to be an issue along with the cleaning supplies, and hand sanitizer. At work they are letting different departments work from home on Monday and maybe Tuesday to see how it goes. The sysadmins who sit in the same area as us are working from home but my department 5 of us will have to go in. Even though I am computer operator were you think we could work from home, we have to print checks, invoices and load tapes for backups. So unless it becomes mandatory by the state or my boss steps in and lets us work from home and goes in and prints the checks and does the tapes we will be going to work. It was in our surrounding area's now my county has one case and our big mall has to shut down. I know to a lot of people this seems like it is being over hyped, and I understand the normal flu kills lots of people, but I live with my Dad who will be 90 in July and he has COPD (emphysema), and my daughter has Asthma. I don't want myself or my son to get it and bring it home to them and cause them to get really sick (or even worse die). Do you know how horrible that would make us feel?

I'm not sure what is it with people and toilet paper. I've always bought those gargantuan bundles from the wholesale club that last me for months. I'm already well stocked. Working from home is not really an option for me either, but at least it's a pretty low risk environment for any exposure to the virus. I only have one employee and she's in another room most of the day. The only other people I see on a daily basis at work are the UPS and FedEx drivers and that's usually only a wave and a "Hey, how's it going?" from like 20 feet away. I've got to stay healthy too. My 93-year-old mother doesn't live with me, but I'm basically her only direct contact with the outside world. Her retirement community is pretty much on lock-down for obvious reasons, but I am allowed to visit her in her apartment, as long as I check-in the front desk. I fill up her pill organizer once a week and keep her stocked with necessities (like toilet paper). Hehe

I usually by the 8 pack of TP and it lasts about 2 weeks. I had brought mine right before everyone was going nuts. I am thinking eventually TP will be back in stock and everyone that stock piled won't touch it LOL! I feel bad for the elderly on one hand I am glad they are in lock down so they don't catch this, but then they get lonely and want company which is sad because people can't go a visit. Hopefully your Mom will stay healthy and that you can continue to visit her!

I don't generally subscribe to wild conspiracy theories. In my view, the principle of 'Occam's Razor' usually applies (ie. the simplest explanation is usually correct). And I certainly wouldn't believe anything the Chinese government puts forth - they are proven liars on countless occasions. Authoritarians always try to scapegoat others for their own failings. No, I believe COVID-19 originated in Wuhan. Whether it was a natural outbreak or the result of an accidental leak from a biolab in Wuhan, I'm not sure we will ever really know. The Chinese would never fess up to anyway. I do find it interesting that China's top bio research lab just happens to be in Wuhan and one of the first scientists to go public about the situation worked there - and he is now dead. Hmmm. In 2020 not sure what's a conspiracy or whats FAKE news. US Intel Agencies Played Unsettling Role in Classified and “9/11-like” Coronavirus Response Plan

It is so odd went to the store today out of milk and all of the TP, tissues and cleaning products are still out. I know they are restocking the shelves but from what I am hearing within an hour they are empty again. Redners actually has signs up saying that their supplier has cut their shipments down. So not only are they out of stock they are receiving less stock in. Two of our grocery stores Giant and the Acme are now setting up times that the elderly can go to the store by themselves. My Dad the only thing he has asked for was Lysol Disinfected he used the last of it, and I told him we won't be able to get any until this is over. I don't want him going to the store even if they are having times for the elderly. Since I work the only time I can go is at night so everything is already gone (Cleaning products and TP). Thinking about setting the alarm for early Saturday or Sunday to go around 9:15 (to see if I can grab some for him, I would try to go earlier but that will be the senior time).
I have to agree there are so many conflicting statements going on that it is hard to tell what is true and what is false. I just know now that we can start testing we are going to find a lot more people have it then we know.

On one hand I am happy that the hoarders are stuck with everything they brought on another hand there are still people that need these things. I actually saw two things of toilet paper the other day and thought well I still have a little left I will leave it for someone else. I am sure in a week if I don't find any and I am out I will not be happy with myself. Still no Lysol Disenfect or Colorox wipes. The lady in the video is lucky. I still have one canister of wipes so I ration as I wipe down. I should be wiping down a lot more then what I am because of my Dad and daughter. I did find something online for Colorox Bleach and water and since I still have some colorox left I will not panic that I cann't find the wipes. I just know when in the future and these items are back in stock I will make sure I have backups at home! At work they did get two boxes of about 8 wipes in each. So I am good when I go to work and am using one on the doors and keyboards and mouse. My coworker and I are taking turns working from home, and another guy is coming in three days a week. My boss came in one day he thinks he should come in one day a week. So with most people gone (at least in my department). The wipes should hold up that we got. My bigger boss told us to lock them in with the checks so no one can steal them.
