This is hardly surprising and I imagine it's happening in every state. I know it is happening in NY. There, the number of deaths attributed to many other causes (like heart attacks) are way down, because they are pretty much all being classified as COVID-19 deaths now.
The last time I checked, in my state, every single COVID-19 fatality was someone "over the age of 65 with underlying health conditions".
I suspect that the Federal funds are being allocated based on the number of cases/deaths, so there is a financial incentive for the local authorities to pad their numbers.

I suspect that the Federal funds are being allocated based on the number of cases/deaths, so there is a financial incentive for the local authorities to pad their numbers. A month ago the Koreans showed that 87% of the deaths in Korea had more then one aliment i.e high blood pressure. In Italy the average age of deaths from corona is 77 and patients had other aliments. Things don't smell right --we just passed the biggest "Redistribution Of Wealth" in history of the world and it's called "Stimulus Package" Who gets what and who is stuck holding the bag ? Don't worry it will be ok

Yep, the numbers game they are playing is as bad as I thought...
Senator Dr. Scott Jensen: “Right now Medicare is determining that if you have a COVID-19 admission to the hospital you get $13,000. If that COVID-19 patient goes on a ventilator you get $39,000, three times as much. Nobody can tell me after 35 years in the world of medicine that sometimes those kinds of things impact on what we do.”
“The idea that we are going to allow people to massage and sort of game the numbers is a real issue because we are going to undermine the [public] trust,” he said. “And right now as we see politicians doing things that aren’t necessarily motivated on fact and science, their trust in politicians is already wearing thin.”
Jensen gave a hypothetical example of a patient who died while suffering from influenza. If the patient was elderly and had symptoms like fever and cough a few days before passing away, the doctor explained, he would have listed “respiratory arrest” as the primary cause of death.
This also explains why there are less heart attacks being reported as the cause of a person’s death than there was before the outbreak began. Doctors and hospitals are attributing the deaths of heart attack patients who have tested positive for coronavirus as dying from the illness instead of the heart attack.
In reality, these folks died as a result of heart disease, not COVID-19. But hospitals get more money if they list patients with the virus, therefore, it makes total financial sense for hospitals to take that course of action. Doesn’t make it right, just understandable.
“I’ve never been encouraged to [notate ‘influenza’],” he said. “I would probably write ‘respiratory arrest’ to be the top line, and the underlying cause of this disease would be pneumonia … I might well put emphysema or congestive heart failure, but I would never put influenza down as the underlying cause of death and yet that’s what we are being asked to do here.”
Jensen then told Ingraham that under the CDC guidelines, a patient who died after being hit by a bus and tested positive for coronavirus would be listed as having presumed to have died from the virus regardless of whatever damage was caused by the bus.
“That doesn’t make any sense,” he said.
Jensen also reacted to Dr. Anthony Fauci’s response to a question about the potential for the number of coronavirus deaths being “padded,” in which the NIAID director described the prevalance of “conspiracy theories” during “challenging” times in public health.
“I would remind him that anytime health care intersects with dollars it gets awkward,” Jensen said.

Morgan Stanley: "The Bad Actors Of The Last Cycle Are Getting Bailed Out" There is a certain paradox behind the coronavirus crisis. On one hand it is a human, social and economic tragedy of unprecedented proportions, with tens of thousands of people dead around the globe, millions infected, tens of millions unemployed, small and medium businesses decimated, countless companies on the verge of bankruptcy and the global economy in a (hopefully brief) depression. On the other hand, it is precisely what all those who benefited from the last round of Fed bailouts - namely Wall Street banks, zombie companies, and overlevered sovereigns so desperately needed. But don't take our word for it: here is Morgan Stanley's chief US equity strategist explaining and admitting what so many can only whisper behind closed doors for fear of being branded conspiracy theorists or being suspended from social networks who are now the self-appointed gatekeepers of the First Amendment.

Question is why WHO and CDC get this so wrong and why are they inflating the numbers ? Maybe some insight ?
